David Wax is not your ordinary singer-songwriter. He spent the
first two years of college on a cattle ranch in California before
transferring to Harvard, where he studied poetry and Latin American
history. He recently returned from a year in Mexico learning rural folk music.
The new instruments and rhythms he brought back add an innovative
infusion of Mexican son to the Americana folk he has been writing for years.
Influences include Wilco, Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams, Iron & Wine, Lyle Lovett, and The Band.
